Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium (PP) is money that the government allocates to schools on the basis of Free School Meal returns, Looked After Children, Special Guardianship Children, Child Arrangement Order, Children Adopted from Care and Nursery aged children when parents are in receipt of certain government benefits.
It is intended to be used to help narrow the achievement gap. Nationally, pupils eligible for pupil premium funding do not achieve as well as those pupils who are not eligible. At Loddon Primary Federation, we strive to ensure all pupils achieve their potential.
Pupil Premium is a significant amount of money and it is important that all families who may be eligible for Free School Meals or certain government benefits, such as Job Seekers Allowance or Income Support, make sure that they apply! Please see the school office if you are unsure. Every school is free to decide how best to direct this funding to meet the needs of individual pupils.
Eligibility
All parents (Nursery to Year 6) in receipt of the following must complete the forms available from the school office if you receive one of the following:
Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
Income related Employment and support allowance
The benefits enjoyed by children in receipt of Pupil Premium at Loddon Primary Federation will include:
- Targeted intervention where necessary and extra support in lessons
- Pastoral care including regular information, advice and guidance
- Enriching experiences
- Reading books
- Revision guides and workbooks
- Items of uniform and equipment and materials to support learning
- Extra tuition outside the normal school day
- Subsidised educational trips and visits
- Musical instrument lessons
- Prioritised academic mentoring
Our spending plans have been carefully designed to stimulate engagement, broaden horizons, develop skills, improve performance, facilitate participation, raise aspirations and maximise achievement in order to close the attainment gap between our Pupil Premium students and their peers. We keep our offer under continuous review and expect to add further benefits during the course of the current Academic Year.
