Uniform

At Loddon Primary Federation we encourage children to take pride in themselves and in their school. Uniform is compulsory but children also need to feel comfortable.

Our school uniform achieves these aims and is as follows:

  • Black/Grey skirts, pinafore dress, trousers or tailored shorts - no jeans, leggings, cycling/bike shorts
  • Blue gingham summer dress
  • White/light blue polo shirt or collared shirt    
  • Navy Blue sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece. These can be purchased from supermarkets or with school logo from Screens. No hooded tops are allowed to be worn as uniform. 
  • Smart black shoes or trainers (no logo) A heel of no more than 3cm. No open-toed shoes.
  • Plain white, black or grey socks
  • Black/Navy Blue/Grey Tights
  • Book Bag (no large rucksacks/bags)
  • Make up, nail polish and nail extensions are not allowed. Children will be provided with Water Wipes to remove make up. 
  • Hair colour must be a natural colour and one shade only.
  • It is essential that each item of clothing is clearly marked with your child’s name.  All lost uniform will be returned to pupils if it is named.
  • Sunhats when necessary. Sun cream in a named bottle. 
  • Mobile phones for years 5 and 6 who walk independently to school, must be switched off and signed into the office each morning.

Jewellery

Jewellery should not be worn for school, with the possible exception of simple wrist watches that are discreet.

Children who have pierced ears must only wear earrings with a rounded stud as other types can be dangerous. We recommend that ears are pierced at the beginning of the summer holiday so they may be removed for PE.

All jewellery must be removed for all physical education activities including swimming. Earrings must be removed or covered with sticking plaster.

Sportswear

Children will need:

  • Navy/black plain shorts - knee to mid length (no bike shorts) 
  • Plain white polo or t-shirt (no logos)
  • Plain black trainers (no visible logos) 
  • Navy jogging bottoms
  • Navy jumper or fleece
  • These need to be kept in school in a named bag.
  • Hair to be tied back and no earrings/or taped up on PE days. 
  • A swimming costume, towel and hat for swimming will also be required swimming but prior notice will be given when this takes place. 

 Please ensure your child has access to their warm kit at all times, every day.

Support with Uniform Costs

We ask that at least sweatshirts and cardigans have our school logo on it. These can be purchased from Screens. We have no preference regarding places to purchase other items of uniform.

We have lots of very good quality items of previously loved school uniform which we can provide free of charge. Please speak with or email the School Office.

We encourage our school community to donate good quality school uniform. Please take your donations to the school office.
